Social media, your business or organization, and you – should you join the bandwagon? Does it make sense and is it worth the effort? We think it is.
In our opinion, the top four social media networks that you should be aware of include Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn. Do you need to be involved (connected) with all four? Probably not, but at the very least you should be using Twitter or Facebook – or both. There are other networks you could try out, and they tend to come and go, but Twitter and Facebook are currently at the top of the pile.
Twitter for Business
Twitter has put together a Twitter for Business tutorial to help you make the most out of your time and energy on Twitter. The tutorial includes learning the basics, optimizing your activity, and even using Twitter as an advertising platform for your business. Go to business.twitter.com for the tutorial.
If you decide to take the Twitter plunge, you’ll want to use a “Twitter client” to help you manage the flow of your Twitter stream. Several clients we use and recommend are Hootsuite, TweetDeck, and Seesmic.
Facebook for Business
There are a variety of ways to integrate Facebook into your business or organization, and Facebook has an extensive help section to assist you in developing a strategy and putting it to work.
